YouTube monetization checker: do you qualify for YPP?

Quick answer

You qualify to apply for the YouTube Partner Program with 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 valid public watch hours (12 months) or 10 million valid public Shorts views (90 days). Early access starts at 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in 90 days and 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views. These apply until 31 January 2027. From 1 February 2027 new applicants need 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 public watch hours in 365 days or 20 million public Shorts views in 90 days. Enter your numbers below to compare under both. YouTube alone decides.

What does the YouTube monetization checker do?

It compares the numbers you type with the two Partner Program tiers that YouTube publishes. For each tier it shows a meter per requirement, tells you whether you meet the tier, and lists what is missing. It is a planning aid and a quick self-check before you open the Earn section in YouTube Studio.

You need only one of the two routes (watch hours or Shorts views) for the tier you are aiming at. These are the figures YouTube publishes; confirm the current values on the official YouTube Help page.

What changes on 1 February 2027?

The table above applies until 31 January 2027. From 1 February 2027, new applicants for full ad revenue need 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 365 days or 20 million qualified public Shorts views in the last 90 days. Existing partners are not affected by the new entry numbers, but they must accept the updated YouTube Partner Program terms in YouTube Studio by 31 January 2027 or lose monetization access from 1 February 2027. The checker shows this as a separate section so you can compare both. Details are on the YouTube Help page and the YouTube Blog.

How do you use the checker?

  1. Open YouTube Studio, go to the Earn section and note your subscribers, public watch hours and Shorts views. Menu names can change, so follow the labels you see.
  2. Type the numbers into the form. Leave a field empty if it is zero.
  3. Tick the account items that are true for you, such as 2-Step Verification.
  4. Read the verdict, then the meters and the "what is missing" list to see which gap to close first.

What do "valid public" watch hours and Shorts views mean?

Only time spent on videos set to Public counts, and only when YouTube judges the viewing to be genuine. Private and unlisted videos do not add to your total, and artificial traffic can be removed. That is why buying watch hours does not help: numbers that vanish can leave you further from approval and can put the channel at risk. See the full explanation in our YouTube monetization requirements guide.

What if the checker says you are not eligible yet?

Fix the furthest-behind requirement first. If subscribers are short, read the plan for your first 1,000 subscribers. If you applied and were turned down for reused content, read how to fix a reused content rejection. If you mostly post Shorts, see how Shorts earn money. Once you are earning, estimate a range with the YouTube earnings calculator.

Please note: this checker is a self-check, not a decision. YouTube alone approves or rejects applications, thresholds can change, and meeting the numbers does not guarantee approval.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the YouTube monetization checker?

It compares the numbers you type with the thresholds YouTube publishes for the Partner Program. It cannot see your channel, so it only shows whether your figures would be enough. YouTube Studio is the source of truth, and YouTube alone decides on approval.

What are the YouTube monetization requirements in India?

Early access needs 500 subscribers, 3 valid public uploads in 90 days, and 3,000 public watch hours in 12 months or 3 million public Shorts views in 90 days. Full ad revenue needs 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views. These apply until 31 January 2027. From 1 February 2027 new applicants need 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 public watch hours in 365 days or 20 million public Shorts views in 90 days. Existing partners are not affected.

Does the checker show the rules from 1 February 2027?

Yes. Below the current tiers it adds a section for the full ad revenue tier from 1 February 2027: 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 public watch hours in 365 days or 20 million public Shorts views in 90 days. It applies to new applicants only. Existing partners must accept the updated terms in YouTube Studio by 31 January 2027.

Should I enter watch hours or Shorts views?

Enter both if you have both. Each tier needs only one of the two routes, so the checker marks a tier as met when either your watch hours or your Shorts views reach the target, along with the subscriber and other requirements.

Does passing the checker guarantee monetization approval?

No. Meeting the numbers only lets you apply. YouTube reviews every channel against its monetization policies, including originality and Community Guidelines, and the review commonly takes up to about a month. Nobody can guarantee approval.

Is the information I enter stored or sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and the numbers are not sent to smmozo or any other server. If you reload the page, the form resets.

What should I do if the checker says I am not eligible yet?

Look at the meter that is furthest behind and fix that one first. Our guide on getting your first 1,000 subscribers and our requirements guide explain each gap, and the Earn section in YouTube Studio shows your live progress.
