YouTube earnings calculator for India: views to rupees
Estimated YouTube earnings equal your views divided by 1,000, multiplied by your RPM in rupees. The calculator does this separately for long-form videos and Shorts, then shows a low, typical and high range at 0.5x, 1x and 1.5x. Use the RPM from your own YouTube Studio. It is an estimate, not a promise of income.
How does the YouTube earnings calculator work?
It multiplies the number of views by the RPM you enter, per 1,000 views, for long-form videos and Shorts separately, and adds the two. The typical figure is exactly that sum. The low and high figures are half and one-and-a-half times that sum, because RPM changes from month to month.
Formula: earnings = (views × long-form share ÷ 1,000 × long-form RPM) + (views × Shorts share ÷ 1,000 × Shorts RPM). Low = 0.5 × earnings, high = 1.5 × earnings.
Where do you find your RPM in YouTube Studio?
RPM is the revenue you earn per 1,000 views after YouTube’s share. Once your channel is monetized, open YouTube Studio, go to Analytics and look at the Revenue tab. Menu names can change, so follow the labels you see. Use a period of at least a few weeks, and enter Shorts and long-form separately if Studio shows them separately. We do not print an "average RPM for India" because no single figure is honest across niches, audiences and formats.
What does a worked example look like?
| Step | Working | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly views | 100,000 views, 20% from Shorts | 80,000 long-form, 20,000 Shorts |
| Long-form | 80,000 ÷ 1,000 × ₹100 RPM | ₹8,000 |
| Shorts | 20,000 ÷ 1,000 × ₹20 RPM | ₹400 |
| Typical | ₹8,000 + ₹400 | ₹8,400 |
| Low and high | 0.5 × and 1.5 × the typical figure | ₹4,200 to ₹12,600 |
The RPM values here are examples chosen to make the arithmetic easy. They are not a claim about what any channel earns. For more on what moves RPM, read how much YouTubers earn in India and how Shorts earn money.
Why is the result only an estimate?
- RPM changes with season, audience country, niche, video length and ad demand, so last month’s RPM is not next month’s.
- You must be in the YouTube Partner Program to earn ad revenue. Check yours with the monetization checker.
- AdSense pays only after your balance reaches its payment threshold, and estimated earnings can be revised.
- Tax, including TDS where it applies, is separate from the figure shown. Speak to a tax professional about your situation.
- Memberships, brand deals and affiliate links are not included. See brand deals for creators in India.
What should you do with the estimate?
- Treat the low figure as the number to plan around and the high figure as a pleasant surprise.
- Change one input at a time to see what matters most, for example more views or a higher Shorts share.
- If you are not monetized yet, work on the requirements first with the YouTube monetization requirements guide.
Please note: this calculator shows arithmetic on numbers you enter. It does not predict or guarantee any income.
Frequently asked questions
How much do YouTubers earn per 1,000 views in India?
There is no single figure. Earnings per 1,000 views, called RPM, depend on your niche, audience country, video length, format and the season. The honest way to estimate is to use the RPM that YouTube Studio shows for your own channel.
What is RPM, and how is it different from CPM?
RPM is the revenue you earn per 1,000 views after YouTube takes its share. CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions before that share. RPM is the better number for estimating what lands in your account.
Where do I find my RPM in YouTube Studio?
Open YouTube Studio, go to Analytics and look at the Revenue tab once your channel is monetized. Menu names can change, so follow the labels you see. If Studio shows Shorts and long-form separately, enter each RPM in its own field.
Why does the calculator show a low, typical and high range?
RPM moves from month to month with the audience, season and ad demand. The range uses 0.5 times, 1 times and 1.5 times your own RPM maths as a simple spread. It is an illustration, not a forecast or a promise.
Do Shorts earn the same as long-form videos?
Not necessarily. Shorts revenue is shared through a separate pool and per-1,000-view earnings can differ a lot from long-form videos. That is why the calculator has a separate RPM field for Shorts, pre-filled with an editable example only.
Will I receive the full amount the calculator shows?
Not exactly. Estimates change as YouTube finalizes revenue, AdSense pays only after your balance reaches its payment threshold, and tax rules such as TDS can apply. Check AdSense Help and speak to a tax professional for your case.
